Allende's Political Career
co-founded a section of the Socialist Party of Chile in 1933. In 1938 was in charge of the electoral campaign of the Popular Front. After his electoral victory, he became a minister of health in the reformist popular front. Becomes a senator in 1945-1969. He became president of the senate in 1966. Through 1962 to 1964 CIA spent 3 mil and 2.6 mil to finance anti-Allende propaganda & finance Frei's campaign.
