-will begin to walk without help from parents
-can pick objects up while standing
-can traverse a set of stairs with little assistance -
Baby develops faster coordination
-begins movements like running, jumping, and standing on one leg
-can move small objects with greater control
-can operate a pencil/pen with thumb and forefinger, not with a fist -
Child has improved movement and coordination than previous years of life
-can throw/catch a ball
-can slide by themselves
-can draw shapes -
Child builds confidence in movements as their coordination continue to improve
-can jump, skip, walk backwards easier
-can traverse a set of stairs alternating feet every step -
Child experiences significant improvement in motor skills, allowing them to skate and/or learn how to ride a bike
-Girls at this age experience major growth spurts
