Argentina – Overserved how different spots of grass were impacted by their environment and changed to survive.
Tierra del Fuego – Observed how the native people adapted to their harsh environment.
Chile – Observed rock formations along the coast and noticed that certain formations brought sea life out of the water. He thought about how those species must have adapted to survive. -
Darwin observed many unique creatures on the islands. Most notably marine iguanas and giant tortoises that had physical differences based on the island they lived on. He also observed finches that had physical differences based on the food that was available. He then theorized that the strongest of each species would survive and pass on the ability to survive to their spawn.

Darwin went on to publish many more books including one titled “On the Origin of Species.” Many people in England were furious about the proposed ideas and public outcry became a normal occurrence. Many people looked at his theory as a serious threat to the church and Christian beliefs.
