Charles Darwin (2/12/1809-4/19/1882): A voyage of Discovery

Charles Darwin was born in Shrewsbury, England on February 12th 1809. Darwin's father wanted him to follow in his foot steps as a physician or a priest. Darwin however had little interest in the study of medicine but a love for natural history and geology. After completing school young Darwin defied his father and set Sail on the H.M.S Beagle (cont. in sub post) Youtube: Crash Course: Darwin and Natural Selection: Crash Course a History of Science (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfsUz2O2jww)

    Darwin Publishes his Discoveries
Darwin published the "Zoology of the Voyage of HMS Beagle" in volumes during this time in which he became extremely famous and a member of the London scientific world. His contributions made him a serious naturalist and a very commendable leader. (cont. on submission on APU) "Charles Darwin: A Time Line"

Set backs and finally Darwin publishes his book on "Natural Selection"

During this time Darwin continued to research and challenge the idea of life and theory of evolution. He had no set publication on evolution yet. He married his wife and continued to have children. Darwin challenged evolution saying there is NO set "creator", species are NOT fixed and the traits that are most useful in a species change over time. At this time he bred (cont. on submission form on APU) Darwin online by Janet Browne and John van Whye

    More Publications

Darwin continued to write on more publications and volumes of "The Origin of Species". He stuck to what he knew: beetles, pigeons and finches. "God" was not written about in his books more as so much how evolution came to be such as why some birds have longer beaks. This influenced scientists and started a "war" on how organisms are created. we see his writings today in modern science. He continued to write three more publications ( "The Variation of Animals (Cont. on Submission form on APU)
