    Early Life of Charles Darwin (1809 - 1824)
    Born on 02/12/1809 in Shrewsbury, England from a medical doctor, Dr. R.W. Darwin, and Susannah Darwin. He was the second youngest of six children who quickly found a passion for nature at an early age. The most influential person in his early childhood was his grandfather, Dr. Erasmus Darwin, a renowned botanist who praised concepts of evolution and a common descent.

    Education of Charles Darwin (1825 -1831)
    In October 1825, at the age of 16, Darwin enrolled at the University of Edinburgh in the field of medical study. Finding it dull, he began to study natural science. In 1827, his upset father transferred him to Christ's College in Cambridge to become a parson. Due to his passion of nature, he found himself again studying natural science and received his degree in 1831.

    Darwin’s Journey (1831-1836)
    On 12/27/1831, mentor and botany professor John Stevens Henslow recommended Darwin for a naturalist’s position aboard the HMS Beagle. This journey would last five years and take Darwin around the world. His mission was to collect a variety of natural specimens, including birds, plants and fossils. This journey would be the inspiration of his greatest work "The Theory of Evolution"

    Darwin's Theory Takes Shape (1836 - 1858)
    Darwin's return, in 1836, left him with more questions than answers. He began to document his findings in the Journal of Researches, later edited into the Zoology of the Voyage of the Beagle.     Death of Charles Darwin (1882)
    On April 19, 1882, Charles Darwin died of heart failure at his family home in London, England. Some suggest that he suffered from chronic Chagas disease that he contracted will kissing a bug on his journey around the world. He was survived by his wife Emma Darwin and his 10 children.
