    Darwin screwed up in his medicine so his dad sends him to cambridge to study theology.
  • HMS Beagle

    Darwin goes on a five year voyage with his uncle Josian Wedgewood II.
  • Galapagos

    After travelling 3 years, HMS Beagle and Darwin arrived in Galapagos Islands. Darwin observed unique fauna and made notes about them which will help him in his theory of evolution
  • Britain

    HMS Beagle returns to Britain. Darwin spends 10 days with his parents before heading back to Cambridge to discuss Galapagos with his mentor, Henslow.
  • Darwin writes his journal

    Darwin writes notes about his time on Beagle. CAptain Fitzroy also contributes into it and makes his own notes.

  • Marriage

    Due to Darwin's health, the family moved to Down House to escape London. At first he hated, but it later became a very important place for him as a scientist and a family man.
  • Anne Elizabeth Darwin's death

    Anne Elizabeth Darwin, Darwin's favorite child, dies of illness. Another two of his children die at infancy.
  • Natural Selection presented

    Darwin and Wallace both presented their work at the Linnean Society.
  • On the Origin of Species published

    Origin of species published, and internationally divided scientific community, from America to China. Darwin was too ill to speak publically, so he communicated through letters and articles.
  • Death

    Charles Darwin dies. He is bured at Westminster Abbey, London, at the request of his scientific friends.
