Charles Robert Darwin was born on February 12, 1809, in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England. Father is Robert W. Darwin (Society Doctor) and Mother Susannah Wedgwood.

During his two years at the university, Darwin learned about chemistry, classifying plants, natural history and more important freethinkers. Freethinkers are people who thought opposite of the church and/or society and used science.

The journey that tested Darwins vigor. His journey was from February 1832 to September 1835, in which he spent 18 months aboard a ship. Hardships is part of the journey, but besides that Darwin witnessed Lyell theory "on land was rising in places, falling in others" through bands of oyster shells on local rocks. During his travels Darwin was disturbed by the eradicating of natives. "The difference between savage & civilized man is.-it is greater than between a wild & domestic animal".

Darwin view is that evolution is driven by natural selection. Darwin had three principles: variation, heredity and the struggle for existence. These three principles determines the gene variations changing the species and have selective reproduction in a mate. Animals evolve and change according to the environment. As do humans when it comes to pigmentation. For example Darker skin is found in hot places in order to survive the harsh sun. Organisms adapt to their environments.
