    Early life

    Charles Darwin was born on February 12, 1809, in Shrewsbury, England. His father, Robert Waring Darwin was a country physician and his mother was the daughter of the famous potter Josiah Wedgwood. He attended Rev. Case's Unitarian day school and Dr. Butler's boarding school at Shrewsbury. His father wanted him to become a clergy, but Darwin was interested in studying geology.

    HMS Beagle
    In December 1831, Charles Darwin was invited to be unpaid naturalist aboard the HMS Beagle. He spent five years traveling the globe alongside of Captain Robert Fitz-Roy on a survey mission. Darwin was responsible for observing and collecting specimens of plants, animals, rocks and fossils. The HMS Beagle is currently stationed on the sands near Rio Santa Cruz, Patagonia, South America.

    Charles returned back to England, then settled in London to start his work on his scientific publications.
    In 1839, Darwin published his first book Journal of Researches
    In 1842, he finished his work for the edits of Voyage of the Beagle and in 1843 Zoology of the Voyage of H.M.S. Beagle edited by Charles Darwin was published along with Coral Reefs and Volcanic Islands that was also published.
    1842, Darwin begin his theory about evolution in two new books the Sketch of 1842 and Essay of 1844.
