  • Natural Selection

    Natural Selection
During the changes in the environment, Darwin explains how natural selection occurs. First off a species of any animal is going to go through adaptation, meaning that the species is going to evolve depending on the environment. Fitness is the species ability to survive and reproduce in this harsh environment. To be continued.

    Natural Selection continued 1
Darwin had 4 principals: 1) variations of Phenotypes, this is the differences in a species such as blood type, hair color, skin color etc. 2) Most of these variations are heritable and can be past on to offsprings. 3) The struggle of existence, this is due to over population. 4) So all the variations and heritable traits can be passed on to future species and this is called survival and reproductive rate. Darwin goes on with different modes of selection To be continued

Directional selection is taking the favored extreme trait from short to tall. The next is stabilizing selection which takes the in between trait from the extreme phenotypes, such as not to short or to tall. Lastly we have disruptive selection which an environment favors both extremes, which makes the species susceptible to the environment. Work Cited:

Darwin's Contributions To The Philosophy Of Science
Darwin's contributions is what shaped the way we look at genetics, biology and other studies of the sort today. We better understand how genetics and mutations work due to his research. How an environment can push a species to adapt to it and mutate its DNA for it to survive.
