  • Charles Darwin Entered The World

    On February 12th 1809 Charles Robert Darwin was born to Susannah and Robert Darwin, the youngest of the family at the time before his parents had another child. His family was well off, his father was a Doctor.

    Charles Darwin was not the very best student when he entered into Shrewsbury School at nine years old, and stayed a student for seven years.

    Charles mother Susannah Passed away when he was only eight years old.

    Robert Darwin had hopes that Charles would follow in his footsteps and become a doctor, but being a doctor did not agree with Charles as he had a weak stomach and the sight of blood made him sick He was enrolled in the university of Edinburgh. Until he realized life in the medical field wasnt what he really wanted to do.

    After discovering that studying medicine wasn't for him he enrolled in to clerical college at Cambridge, at the wishes of his father Robert.

    Charles takes a great opportunity and decides to board a boat for five years, which turn out to be a great idea, while on the trip he collects plants, birds and fossils to study and observe them better.
  • Galapagos Islands

    While aboard the HMS Beagle they go to the Galapagos islands where Charles gets to observe finches. This was the beginning of what was to come with his theory of evolution by natural selection
  • Return home

    When Charles returned home he came home a changed man and began writing about all the fascinating things he learned and studied while away on HMS Beagle. He began to make theorys about the origins of life that was different from what other people believed at the time
  • Wedding bells

    in 1842 Charles married his first cousin (though not uncommon at the time) Emma. Together they had 10 kids (and i thought five was a hand full) three of their children did not make it to adulthood and died early on in life

    With all of the stuff that Charles learned he wrote a book. " The Origin of species by means of natural selection" He wrote about what he learned and studied while away on his voyage which was not well taken by other people of his time

    Charles Darwin died in London at his family home
