Magna Carta
Barons were seeking protection against heavy-handed and arbitrary acts by the king. It included guarantees of such fundamental rights. -
Petitionn of Right
It limited the king's power. The document insisted that the king may not impose martial law, or military rule, in times of peace, or require homeowners to shelter the king's troops without their consent. -
English Bill of Rights
