Preschool
One day after preschool I had came home and rambled on for hours about a little girl named GG whom I had just met. No one knew from that day on she'd be considered a big part of my childhood and barbies would be our go to toys for years to come. From creative play with GG to the 20x a day "why" questions, this represents Initiative vs. guilt and the conflict being we as children are starting to take initiative in creative play, while also struggling through social role identification. -
Middle School
Age 12 I joined my first team sports team (volleyball). In Erikson's fourth stage, industry vs. Inferiority, conflicts being we may struggle with self esteem problems if at any point we have unresolved issues with peers reguarding inadequacy or inferiority. -
Wedding
At age 23, Chanel gets married to Dominik and they decide to spend the rest of their life together. This is an example of Erikson's 5th stage. The conflict during this time is that young adults most of the time seek intimacy and relationships, but if these do not work out isolation can be the end result. It can also turn out to one being conflicted about whether to commit ingeneral or stay self reserved. -
Career
Age 35, Chanel has a family of 7 and has been going steady in her career for about 10 years now, with her husband being a stay at home father. In Erikson's 7th stage, generativity vs. self absorption, career and family are the most important parts. One may struggle most with trying to find purpose or feel like some parts of their lives are meaningless.
