    Allowed people to capture fugative and runaway slaves to return them to their plantion. This act interfeared with the laws of the north since they were free states. Disputes began and caused tension between free and slave states.

    Allowed Kansas and Nebraska to choose whether they would be free or slave states. Pressure from te Union and the Confederacy ran upon them to make them either free or slave states.
