    This treaty stopped the war between the Britsh and French.The Britsh won victoriously. They kept Canda, The Great Lakes Country, Ohio River Valley, and Florida. The Britsh drove the French out of North America. After, the Mississippi River became a boundrey between the French and the Spanish.

    Merchants had grown rich from trade. In 1764, the new prime minister, George Grenville raised money by collecting duties. The law known as the Sugar Act when put into effect, actually lowered the duty of foreign molasses. But it did however make up smugglers.

    In the stamp act Parliment said that all colonist will pay taxes on paper things like books, stamps, newspapers, contracts, and land deeds. This led to colonist protesting. "Taxation without Representation." Colonist also quatestioned Parliments rights to tax them. They also belived that if the colonist accepted this Parliment would keep adding more and more taxes

    This act made colonies provide things like food and shelter stationed there after the war. Most of the colonist did not approve of this, but they went a long with it becuase the colonist respected parliments right to control trade and provide for defense.

    The colonial learders did not like the fact that there was taxes but they feared the violance of the crowds. To comtrol these violance crowds and their protest actitives, nine colonies sent delegates to a Stamp Act Congress held in New York city in October 1765. The local committees enforced the "nonimportation agreements" which made it seem like a threat to the British merchants and manufacturers.

    Their famous leader was Samuel Adams. These men helped fight against the stamp act. In 1765 the Sons of Liberty tore down an office and house of a stamp tax collector. Thomas Hutchinson put an end to this. He told colonist they have a legal duty to pay there taxes. But, The Sons of Liberty also destroeyed his home. This made no one support the stamp act. All stamp act collectors had quit their jobs.

    Colonist protested about lideralism of the Enlightenment. Some of Europe's leading liberal writers were Baron de Montesquieu of France and John Locke of England. They had a disagrement that people should have natural rights, such as including life, liberty, and property.

    This act was passed by Parliment in 1767, this left a tax on tea, glass, led, paint, and paper. Colonist would not pay any of Parliments taxes they claimed. Colonist also turned down the fact that this money would also go to juges and governoers makeing them more hands off from the colonial amssemblies. This led to the Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre was a group of coloinst that hurled snowball and rocks at British soldiers gaurding the Coustoms House. The soldiers were very nervious and fired their guns into the crowed killing five colonists. This was under the leardership of Samuel Adams.

    British East India Company was able to sell tea to the colonist. Parliment a loud this company to sell directley to the colonist also their tea was cheaper even with the tax. Instead of buying this tea the Colonist felt the Britsh were tricking them into paying the taxes. This company would also hurt the wealthy people in the colonies becuase they smuggled tea in for cheap. Boston Patriots dressed as Indians and borded 3 ships then dumped all the tea into the harbor
  • The Battles of Lexington and Concord

    The Battles of Lexington and Concord
    The was at Lexington and Concord. Two country towns west of Boston. Gage provoked the battles by sending troops to arrest Hancock and Adams. Someone tipped off by men, including Paul Revere, who had rode into the country sideto warn the Britsh troops. As the Red Coats also known as the British went into town. The British and the Patriots went into war. The first set of fires killed five Patriots. The second set of fires were shot and 200 British soldiers were killed or wounded.
