    November 3, 1868 people were voting for a president . They had to choose between Ulysses S. Grant - republican or Horatio Seymour -democratic. Ulysses S. Grant won the election, at last. This event was going on near the days or the years of Civil War. Grant won office thanks to the African Americans votes. That at the time could vote mostly everywhere and anywhere . The African that voted were approximately 700,000 people
