Carson Wimpy Kid Diary

  • The start - DIARY of a wimpy kid: Wrecking Ball

Wimpy Kid, Greg Heffley, starts this diary on a Sunday in March. His mom tells Greg he has to clean out his closet and get rid of stuff he doesn't need. Digging into his closet was like going further back in time through his childhood! He did not know what to do with all the stuff so he decided to have a yard sale to make some money from it.
  • April showers and weeds

Sunday: Greg was not happy about all the rain because the rain made the weeds grow so Greg had to try to pull out all the weeds. If he was famous he would have everything paved so he could live underground.
  • Yard sale fail

Greg organized different types of stuff on different tables for his yard sale. Then he put op signs to advertise. And he got his friend Rowley to come and help. People came but nobody bought anything. Then a man with a truck tried to take it all because he thought it was trash but Greg stopped him. Then it rained really hard and a bunch of the stuff like books and comics got ruined!
  • Greg the hero?

    Greg the hero?

Greg thought of it will help to sell stuff at an auction if he was famous. The best way to be famous is to be a hero. So he got Rowley to wake around with raw bacon in his pocket so he can save him from dog attacks. But Rowley got too nervous from the dogs and ate the raw bacon, which is not safe. Then Greg thought he should be a hero because he told Rowley's parents so he could take him to the doctor.
  • Sad news

On Friday Greg's mom and dad were upset because great aunt Reba passed away in her sleep. The funeral was on a Saturday but they were late because Greg's older brother Rodrick had to go back and change into black clothes. They didn't see anyone that they knew and then realized they went to the wrong funeral! On Monday Greg's family found out about their inheritance and her mom decided it should be used for a new addition for the house.
  • Home improvements and repairs

Saturday in May: Greg says the great thing about building the new addition is having something to brag about to Rowley! Before starting the addition Greg's dad wanted to fix some things around the house and for Greg and his brother Rodrick to learn how to fix things. Greg was afraid of plumbing things! He thought the "Grout" between bathroom tiles was some sort of monster.
  • Scary plumbing

When Greg's dad unblocked the shower drain with a "snake" and pulled out a glob of hair Greg locked himself in his room for the rest of the day!
  • What to do in a zombie invasion

After walking around the home improvement store Greg decided there was so much stuff there that could do serious damage it would be the place to go if there was a zombie invasion.
  • Hot tub problems

Greg's dad told him and Rodrick they were going to stain the deck and clean up the empty hot tub. Greg remembered he had to go last winter outside in a snowstorm to put the cover back on the hot tub and he had slipped and fallen down the stairs, When he went to clean the hot tub Greg found a wasp nest under the cover! Greg wished they would get rid of the hot tub.
  • Stuck on the roof

    Stuck on the roof

Greg had to climb up the ladder onto the roof to clean the gutters but the ladder fell down and he was stuck for a long time until he thought of a plan. He climbed over the roof and got in through an open window into his mom's bathroom. But his leg went into the toilet when he climbing in!
  • The digging starts!

    The digging starts!

Greg remembered that he and Rowley tried to dig a hole to China but they had to give up. But on Tuesday men came to start the new addition by digging a hole with a backhoe. Greg's dad wanted him to learn how to do things by helping the builders.
  • Goodbye sub

Greg was bringing a meatball sub to one of the workers, Luther, but sadly the meatballs rolled into a bucket of concrete. Greg thought Luther would not be happy about a meatball sub without meatballs so he put the rest of the sub in the bucket. Then Luther thought one of the crewmates took his sub so Greg went indoors and told his dad he had retired from working.
  • The addition starts to zoom along

Sunday: Now there was so much building going on that neighbors were complaining about the noise and mess. Mrs. Rutkowski wanted Greg's dad to pay the Vet bill after her cat stepped on a nail. Greg loves the dumpster because he liked to put the trash in the dumpster.
  • Mouse poop and mold

Monday was a really big day because the workers cut a hole in the wall of the house to connect it with the addition. Bad news: because of the clogged gutter and a leak the wall was rotten and there were toxic mold and a rotten nest and a whole colony of mice. Friday: Since they opened the wall there were mouse droppings on the kitchen counters wasps in the house.
  • Things start to go wrong

Saturday: The whole family had to sleep in the basement because the air conditioner had to be replaced with a bigger unit so the rest of the house was too hot. The workers made a lot of noise breaking up the old driveway and then pouring new concrete for a new one. Greg had to guard the new pavement until it dried but Rodrick drove his van on it because of a bigger problem which was smoke from first floor because Greg had hidden his snacks in the oven. Then the fire engine arrived!
  • The end of the extension

    The end of the extension

Wednesday; That's when things got really bad. The building inspector discovered the extension was too close to Mrs. Tuttle's house so it had to be torn down!
  • Time to move

Thursday: Greg got bad marks on his test because there was a reptile loose in the class! It was too expensive to rebuild the extension so Greg's mom decided they should move to a different house. The new house had an inground swimming pool which was awesome. It was hard to sell the old house because of all the problems but eventually, a person came and loved it and wanted to buy the old house.
  • Moving problems

Sunday: Greg's mom made a mistake and the movers came a week before they were ready to move. The movers didn't care if they broke things.
  • A hole in the roof

    A hole in the roof

Greg's family had to remove the hot tub because the new owners had small children. But the crane dropped it through the roof! And then the new people who were supposed to buy the house pulled out because they could not afford it. So Greg and his family were stuck in the old house!
  • Lesson learned

    Lesson learned

The lesson Greg said he learned was: "Don't be late for an old lady's funeral because believe me she will make you PAY."
