  • Pap smear

    A Pap smear is where cells are scraped from the opening of the cervix are examined under a microscope. Women between 21 and 29 should have one every 3 years, then when they are between 30 and 65 years should have a Pap test and an HPV test every 5 years. When women are over the age 65 then the testing should stop.
  • Mammograms

    A mammogram is a diagnostic screening for breast cancer. It is two plates that put pressure on the breast and takes an x-ray picture. Women should start in their 20’s and 30’s, and have one every 3 years until the age of 40 to have a mammogram yearly.
  • Colonoscopy

    A colonoscopy is an examination of the large bowel and the distal part of the small bowel with a camera that is passed through the anus. It can remove polyps, and detect for cancer. People starting getting this test done at the age of 50, and have one every ten years.
