    The rebellion began with the attempted arrest of John Papineau
  • Papineau Flees

    John Papineau flees the area and heads to Montreal
  • Violence Spreading

    Violence begins to spread from Montreal to other areas of Lower Canada.
  • British Attack

    British army attack Patriote camps with attempted capture of Papineau.
  • Rebels Dying

    The government attacks the Patriote stronghold, forty rebels die.
  • Large Battle

    2000 British soldiers fight the Patriotes. Approximately 250 rebels are shot.
  • Battle's End

    Most of the rebel leaders were arrested.
    Papineau escapes to the United States.
