    Beginning
Riding on my wagon, hitched to my musk ox, I start my four to six month journey to California along the Oregon Trail. I’m leaving my family and friends behind. Currently I would be known as a 49er.

    Arriving
I have reached a deserted area, and claim it as my own. There are more men here rather than women, and these other men are pretty rough. Drinking, and gamboling, these parts are dangerous, con men everywhere! With a lack of food, and laws, I’m not sure how half these men have lasted, most have been here longer then I.

    Groups
Not a lot of variety over here, many whites, and blacks, both enslaved and free, as well as Native Americans. A small amount of Mexicans, Europeans, and others that speak in foreign tongues. I’m still rather frightened by the amount of food here. But I have found my first gold nugget, rather small but still holds its worth!
  • GOLD!!

    GOLD!!
I have found more gold! More of it I say! GOLD GOLD GOLD!
  • Ending

    Ending
Now that the gold rush is over California became a state! We had the Transcontinental RR! And there is a strong economy here. But, Native Americans have lost numbers, Californios lost their land and rights.
