    Emperor Constantine I Founded the Byzantine Capital
    The Roman Empire had spread so qucikly, and had reached out to so many regions that the City of Rome, after the fall was not central enough for the empire. And so Constantine the Roman Empire at the time, created a large new city called Constantinople. Constantinople was built in 6 years. And of course was named after the emperor Constantine.

    Eperor Justinian, also Known as Justinian the Great. Ruled from 527-565, and during his reign he had goals of bringing back the power of the Empire. He is known for partly "restorizing the Empire". He also had a very powerful general named Belisarius that helped to conquer civilization and improve the Empire.

    General Belsarius was a general under the ruling of Justinian. He was an important leader of revamping and taking back the Mediterranean. During his Military Campaign he won many battles including the battle of Carthage. Which helped him win back a large amount of North Africa.

    After 3 different attempts the Sophia was built. The Sophia was a large basillica for the Greek Orthodox church. Throughout the years, the sophia has changed and adapted to the adopting churches. The Sophia currently is a museum that a large amount of people every year come to see the grand architecture and designs.

    Basil II reigned from 976-1025. During his time as emperor he went through many hard times including civil wars. But he helped to stabilize the Byzantine Empire. He also pushed the expansion of the empire and helped to beat the Bulgarian, which helped him to get the name, "the Bulgar-slayer."

    The Great Schism between the "East and West", was very large split between their Religious beliefs. Multiple wars between faiths lead to many deaths. An example of warriors that were part of the Schism are the Crusades. They fought to push the faith of Roman Catholic belief.

    Emperor Alexios was the ruler from 1081-1118, and during his reign his family became the strongest and it was the peak of the Komnenian dynasty
    Pope Urban II was the Pope from 1088-1099, he was one of greatest supporters of Gregioran Reforms, which dealt with integrity and independence of the clergy.
