    Paper maps were made in the 16th century. The first map to come out was in 1569, soon then more and more maps were made. Maps have been used over the years to find our way around the world or even your own town. But, that didn't last for long as then the first GPs was made in 1995, and soon after we started to get more advance by it now being in our own cellular devices.
  • Mailing Bills

    Mailing Bills
    Mailing bills has started to decrease over these years of technology. 07/26/1775 is the day when the U.S Postal System was created. This type of communication has been used over decades and now in this era we are starting to use technology instead of paper billing being mailed because they can be mailed to our virtual mail/ inboxes.
  • Phone books

    Phone books
    Phone books use to be used back in the day. I used to use them because my mom had a lot. I remember using them to find the pizza pizza number. They first came out in February 21 1878 and it looked like a piece of cardboard with just a few number and the British telephone dictionary was published on January 15 1880. They are not used the often anymore and are just forgotten.

    Rotary dial phones are another example of obsolete item. They were first invented in in 1896 by John and Charles Erickson and their partner A.E. Keith. These phones then came out into service in 1919 and the trio works for a company named Almon Strowger. Then the first push button phone is November 18 1963, but they didn't start to replace it until 1980s.

    Cassette tapes are one of many obsolete items. They were first introduced in Europe on August 30 1963, but were invented in 1962. They were then introduced to the United States in 1964. They began to stop selling as much once CD's were introduced in the 1980s and started to out sell them in 1993 and by the early 2000s pre-recorded cassettes were basically extinct

    Backing up data on Floppy
    The first floppy was made in 1967, they were used to hold data off your computer. Over time people started to used iCloud or other ways to store your data on your computer. They discontinued making floppies in march 2011.
  • VCRs

    The first VCR was first release in Japan in late 1976. They then came to the United States in early 1977. Hollywood studios started to stop making making movies in VHR/VCR form. As of 2005 only some still owned them and they last made them in October 28,2008
  • CDs

    The first CDs were produced in August 17 1982 and it was a recording from 1979 of Claudio Arrau preforming Chopin Waltzes. CDs replaced cassette tapes in 1993. They are still sold today but as much, we now use technology such as apple music or spotify
  • Blockbusters (Movie rentals)

    Blockbusters (Movie rentals)
    Blockbusters and other movie rental stores are obsolete. They were first started on October 29,1985. In those stores there was all types of movies such as horror, romantic, Sci-fi, comedy, and so much more. by 2011 the store blockbuster announced that they would be closing down the remaining 300 stores in the US. In January 2014 is when they took their first steps into shutting down all stores nations wide.

    On a phone we have buttons to dial number and text people. Apple is now changing that, they are starting to use more touchscreen technology. The first phone was rotary and then the next was made with buttons we are changing our was on how we contact people.
