John gets a call that Linda is dying. He sits with her as she dies and then all the irratating Deltas making rude comments about his mother make him really mad. -

At his lighthouse John starts planting a garden and whipping himself whenever he thinks something wrong. Crowds come to see the spectacle and when one day Lenina shows up and John freaks out and then he hangs himself.
