    Fort Sumter
    The Confederate States of America bomb the Union soldiers in Fort Sumter, South Carolina. The south were more prepared then the north and bombed the north into submission. The south would start their campaign of taking military property in the south. Although it was only a 36 hour battle the tension was very high. Fort Sumter was the first victory for the south and marks the start of the civil war.
  • Bull Run

    Bull Run
    The Confederates attacked the union who were camping by the bull run river in Vagina. The battle is famously know for the citizens who were having a picnic on the sidelines of the battlefield.The inexperienced Union soldiers stood no chance against the Confederate veterans. The north quickly retreated and a bloody battle took place. It was a easy victory for the south and it further fueled the south's ego. The battle left the citizens shocked and revealed the south to be a formidable enemy.
  • Antietam

    Antietam
    Close to Antietam creek in Maryland, the South attacks. General Lee of the south lead a full frontal assault on the north. General Mcellan just barley manages to drive the south back. The south retreat in order to regroup. The north won but with a toll, about 12,400 Union solders were killed, wounded, or missing. General Mcellan was fired for not going after the north and letting them retreat. As a result of this battle Mcellan was fired and the south was drove back for at least a little bit.
