    Bauchi prison break
    There were 759 inmates. 721 prisoners were freed. Over thirty prisoners returned to the prison. Only thirty-five prisoners have been re-arrested. Some of the jail was set on fire and five people were killed and six people were in a hospital. The goal of the whole attack was to free the 150 Muslim fundamentalists held there.     Northern Nigeria bombings
    At the Zuba International Market in Abuja, bombings killed two people and injuring 11 others. Three blasts also struck the Mammy Market in Bauchi, near the headquarters of Nigeria's 33rd Artillery Brigade. Thirteen died and 40 were injured.     This event was believed to be the first suicide bombing in Nigeria's history. A suicide bomber drove a car bomb onto the premises of the Louis Edet House in Abuja, the headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force. He may have been trying to kill Inspector-General of Police Hafiz Ringim, whose convoy he followed into the compound, but he was stopped by security before he could do so.     A car bomb explosion in Abuja's UN building that killed at least 21 and wounded 73. At about 11:00 WAT in the diplomatic zone in the centre of the city the car bomb vehicle broke through two security barriers. Then its driver detonated the bomb after crashing it into the UN reception area. The bomb caused devastation to the building's lower floors.     Bombings in Kano
    The death toll from a series of terror attacks had risen to 185, as police discover a further 10 unexploded car bombs, and hundreds of smaller explosives. In addition to the unexploded car bombs, police officers also found about 300 devices made from aluminium cans and other explosives. Of those killed, 150 were civilians, 29 were police officers.
