    The group originally was begun under the name Shabaab, ruled by Mallam Lawal. This group was considered to be a Muslim Youth Orginization. Boko Haram, is located in Northern Nigeria and is now under the rule of Mohhamed Yusuf .

    In the beginning of the group moved to Kanamma, a bordering site near Niger. The group moved there because it was closer head Al-Qaeda group in Africa. In later years Niger police force set up border control to protect Niger citizens.

    Nigerian Military Forces captured Mohhamed Yusuf on July 30th, location unknown. Was reported that he was alive when captured but the next day was seen dead with bullet wounds and bruises. His body was put on display in a local police station for display
    to the public.

    Shortly after Mohhamed Yusuf's death and Nigerian forces showing his corpse dead, saying that this was the end of the Boko Haram terrorist groups another rebel group showed what they believed in. Boko Haram took under rule of a new leader and attacked a Bauchi State prison freeing hundreds of captured extreme muslims that were members of the terrorist group.

    On December 2011, Boko Haram went on bombing and shooting spree to nearby churchs around Nigerias capital. Killing over a couple dozen people, that were in church. local church that was bombed included St Theresa's church in Madalla, there was additional bombings in Northern Yobe, and Damaturu.

    Just a couple of days ago, Niger publicly announced its plans to form a joint patrol along the border of Niger and Nigeria. Joint Patrol would be to protect the countries of Niger and Nigeria from extreme Islamic groups like the Boko Haram. Reports are said that Boko Haram is trying to seize any land that they can to impose extreme Islamic law, however the group has said that they will use violence to accomplish the goal.
