  • Black Panther Party Founded

    Black Panther Party Founded
    This group was founded to address the issues of race and gender equality. It was founded by six men. The core values of this group quickly interested black women. Many joined, but there were still issues of sexism in the group.
  • Equal Rights Amendment Passed

    Equal Rights Amendment Passed
    This amendment said that rights shall not be denied based on sex. While this was a huge milestone for women across America, it mainly helped white women.
  • Combahee River Collective was founded

    Combahee River Collective was founded
    This group was founded by black feminists. It addressed the issues of feminism, race, and sexual orientation. This group was founded on the belief that these issues intersected one another.
