The Black Panthers was formed because Newton and Seale were sick of the unnecessary police brutality on the African American society. They formed the group in order to be an independent group to fight for their own beliefs in their own way. The founders were sick of the inequality so they introduced the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense. This group grew national attention which brought more attention to civil rights.
