Panthers help pass the Mulford Act with their gun protest. The act allows public carrying of loaded firearms.

The Black Panther party begins to grow and gain members/supporters. About a month later, they marched to the California state capital carrying loaded weapons in protest of an attempt to outlaw carrying loaded guns in public.
The result was all thrity of them were arrested immediately. This sparked others to join the movement and other panther chapters were beggining to from in other states. -
Police arrest Black Panthers member Heuey Newton for killing a police officer in Oakland.
As a result, Eldridge Cleaver begins the movement to "Free Huey" and protests followed.

Bobby Hutton, 17 years old, is shot by Oakland police. In a 90 minute gun battle, an unarmed Bobby Hutton is shot ten times after his house is set on fire. He was forced to run out and when he did police gunned him down.

The Panthers set up their first free breakfast for school childeren program. They fed over 10,000 kids before school every day!
Breakfast was held in St. Augustine's Church in Oakland.

The FBI began to forge letters to Panther members, mainly Eldrige Cleaver.
They eventually convice Cleaver that the BPP is trying to remove him from power.
