    The Black Death

    The Black Death or bubonic plague was a sickness that killed half of Europe's population. This plague was carried by rats that had fleas that would infect people. Due to the Black Death the way the economy and the social stature was different. Peasants demanded more pay since there was a shortage of workers. Trade declined so merchants made less money. There was less food needed. Peasants that were now making enough money and growing their own food so they no longer need to work for nobles.

    Venice was a trading capital of Italy. Vencinice is built on water and There are many palaces that were built along the canals and on the Adriatic Sea. There was an economic boost in this city state due to its location.

    Ferdinand Magellan was a Portuguese explorer. He wanted to find a new route from Portugal to India. He left Portugal and sailed to South America. He then crossed the Atlantic ocean. Then across the Pacific. This was innovative new way of sailing to other lands as was happening in the city state of Venice
