Muhammad was born in c. 570 after the death of his father. Tragedically, his mother, and grandfather died when he was a child, which made him unable to inherit the family wealth. As a result, he was in poverty until a later day.

At age 25, Muhammad met a wealthy widow. The widow offered him a job to be in charge of her trading supplies in Syria. Muhammad married the wealthy widow after he successfully completed the task.

Together, Muhammad and his wife had four daughters. As tragic as his own experience as a child, Muhammad's several infant sons died.

Muhammad heard a voice from the heaven when he meditated. The voice told him that he is the messenger of the God. According to himself, the voice was from the archangel Gabriel.

At the beginning, only close friends of Muhammad was included in his teachings. As time goes on, he began to preach to the public. More and more young men became his followers in Mecca. The followers were called Muslims.

Not all agreed, though. The leading merchants in Mecca resisted the teaching of Muhammad. As a result, Muhammad and his followers were always mistreated. Many fleeted to Ethiopia to escape the mistreatment. Muhammad, however, was under the protection of tribe Hashim.

The Hashim Clan's head, Muhammad's uncle was dead. The new head of the Clan took the power. The new leader did not want to protect Muhammad anymore because of the trading pressure from the leading merchants in Mecca. Muhammad went to a place two hundred miles north in Medina in order to seek peace.

The war between Muhammad, his followers, and Meccans began the conflict. With a serious loss of both sides, they settled with the treaty called al-Hudaybiya. The treaty was regarded as the victory of Muhammad. The religion was firmly established around 630 as Koran describes the main ideology of Islam, which includes the idea of the Day of Judgement, the only and all powerful God Allah.

Muhammad continued to impact the Medina region. He also formed alliances with a system of nomadic Arabic tribes. As Muhammad's power became stronger, he required everyone who came to seek help to become Muslim. He conquered Mecca in January 630 and became the most powerful man in Arabia.

Prophet Muhammad rested in his wife A'Ishah's apartment as his illness worsened. On the June 8th, Muhammad died in the evening. His last wors were, "O Allah, with the supreme communion."
