    Trade

    Alcohol was invented in Ancient Egypt. Wine production and trade are a uniquely important part of Mediterranean commerce. The Egyptians made 3 gallons of beer per day.

    Italy

    In Italy, there are documents that a medical school distillate alcohol which defines a purified liquid that is being condensed by a procedure of heating and cooling. The Italians named it spirits.

    Germany made a 'beer purity'law that it's illegal to make beer with anything but barley, hops and pure water.
  • James I England (1600-1625)

    The 16th century created wine, but the 17th century constellated it. From 1600-1625, writers began to describe how people was get drunk from beer and wine
  • Whiskey tax(1780's-1790's)

    The first Americans attempted to reduce the consumers of alcohol was formed in Litchfield, Connecticut. Other states began to do the same thing. The whiskey tax is when the government makes a new law that there will be a tax on both public and private distillation of whiskey in America.
    In pennsylivania, there was a whiskey rebellion, but only the distillery leaders would get arrested by government troops to refuse to pay tax after making their products.
  • 1800s

    The whiskey tax was revoked in 1802, but a new alcohol tax was created to help pay for a war in 1812. In the 1850s, New York bartenders invented the cocktail. In 1860, 1,138 legal alcohol distilleries are operating and producing 88 million gallons of liquor per year. In 1862, Abraham Lincoln established a new tax on liquor to help pay the tax for the Civil War. In 1884, New york made anti alcohol teaching requirement in public schools.
  • 1906-1944

    Pure Food and Drug Act is surpassed, managing the labeling of products containing alcohol in 1906. New York creates the first drunk driving laws in 1910. In 1920, the 18th amendment and the Volstead Act severely outlawed the production, sale, and transportation of alcoholic beverages in the United States. 1933, forbidding a law was revoked, most states say youth under 18 can't drink alcohol beverages. The Public Health Service claims that alcoholism is the fourth largest health problem in 1944.
  • 1964-1980

    In 1964, the Grand Rapids is the risk of drunk driving increases as more alcohol is consumed. From 1970-1975, 29 states say that voting was the lowest voting and changed it to 21. In 1980, Mothers Against Drunk Driving is established with the goal of reducing alcohol-related highway fatalities.
  • New Rule

    In 2000, a new federal requires states making it a crime to drive over a B.A.C(Blood alcohol concentration) of .08 percent.
