    Spice Trade

    The spice trade in the 1400-1700s brought on the rise and birth of global trade. It spread out the wealth of the world and opened the world by exposing countries to each other.

    In the early days of sugar trading it was very expensive. This created a demand for slaves and ignited the slave trade. Once slave labor and new advances were in full force sugar prices began to drop, and consumption rose.

  • Tea Trade Issues

    The Boston Tea party, which arose from Britain allowing the East India Trade Company to sell in the colonies and be taxed, started on of the first anti globalization riots. Tea trade was significant during this time and the government involvement from abroad fueled the revolution.
  • Corn Laws

    Corn(Grain) Laws artificially kept the price of grain up through subsides. This made the poor, poorer because they could not keep up with the demand compared to the price. Once repealed it leveled the market and helped the poor.
