Benjamin was released from Latin school, despite he was doing an outstanding job, his father Josiah made him an apprentice in his candle workshop. Ben was not at all intrigued by the idea of wax and cutting wicks. Franklin's older brother,James Franklin, apprenticed him in his own printshop. -

Franklin decided to make his own paper published under a false name, Silence Dogood. The people of Boston were stunned by the published paper. When James Found that it was his 16 year old brother publishing the papers he was furious and made Ben vow to not publish any more of his writing. -
Benjamin Franklin was much more skilled as a printer than his brother, which made James envy him. Because of this Benjamin Franklin suffered a series of harsh beatings by his brother James. When Franklin realized that these harsh punishments were too much for him, he informed law enfrocements and James got arrested because of his actions.

Benjamin Franklin ran away from his apprenticeship from New York to Philadelphia where he gained employment in a printer shop. While in Philadelphia he was lodging in the home of John Read and met his daughter Deborah Read. -

Benjamin Franklin married Deborah Read as his common-law wife after her husband disapeared after stealing a slave. Having a common-law wife is not as official as an engagement. -

During Franklin's time, books were scarce and expensive. Franklin recognized that by pooling together resources, members could afford to buy books. Benjamin Franklin succesfully opened the first subscription Library but was private. -

Franklin and Deborah gave birth to their first son Francis Folger. Their child was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. -
Francis Folger was the only son of Ben Franklin. But Francis Folger faced a deadly illness of small pox and died at the age of four.

Benjamin Franklin developed the first political cartoon in the Pensylvania Gazzette that became popular in the colonies. It was meant to be a symbol of freedom during the American Revolutionary War and an effort to unite the colonies. -
Benjamin Franklin witnessed brutal oppressions on the colonists under the British rule. When Franklin intercepted private letters to crush colonists rebellion he publicized it for the pursuit of liberty.

Franklin owned slaves in much of his time but became an outspoken opponent on slavery. Franklin sent a petition to Congress asking for the emancipation of slaves. Benjamin Franklin died at age 84. 20,000 people attended the funeral of the man who was called, "the harmonious human multitude."
