The Siege of Vicksburg lasted for an insane 47 days. The siege was fought so the Union could take over the Mississippi River. The Union had 4,910 soldier casualties and the Confederate had 32,363 soldier casualties. That's almost 6 times more people.

The battle of Gettysburg was the last battle the Confederate attempted to invade the North against the Union. This was the bloodiest battle of the conflict. Eventually, the Union won under a Confederate retreat. When the Union's General stopped attacking after the retreat he gave up a key opportunity to finish the Confederate once and for all.

The Battle of Appomattox Court House was the last and final battle of the Civil war. When the Confederate surrendered after they had 27,805 soldiers captured they gave victory to the Union and the final battle had ended.
