In 1931, the resurrection of dance began. Wasily de Basil and Rene Blum first started, by changing their new company's name to Ballet Russe de Monte-Carlo.

Tamara Toumanova, Tania Riabouchinska, and Irina Boranova were the "baby ballerinas" of the time. After their performance, in 1932, everyone loved the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo.

In 1933, the Massine Era of ballet at the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo began.

Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo set sails for America where an impresario booked their first American Tour.

When they got to America, they performed for 3 million people. They also started adding new people into the Dance company, but since they were American, they changed their names so that they would sound Russian.

Blum and Basil disagreed in something, so Blum resigned from the company.

Each person went their separate ways, and they each got their own dancers or performers. They usually fought for the dancers.

In 1938, each company was ready to make their debut. There was only one problem, Massine had lost all the rights to his choreography. As a result, he had to create 3 new ballets.

Since Massine had left the company, Basil had to find someone to replace the main choreographer. He hired David Lichine to be the choreographer of his company.

Hurok needed another tour, so he chose Massine's Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo. Around the same time, Basil took his company to Australia.

After all of the war, in 1944, Ballet crossed over into broadway. Ballet became a very important part of society.
