What: Texas wanted to be a independent country but Mexico didnt want to lose Texas. Mexicans considered Texas part of the Mexico boundary

Who: Mexican government and American government.
What: Mexicans were angry cause they considered Texas as their republic. The mexican governemnt refused any deals with the U.S.A . The U.S.A went on war with Mexico
Where: Californina, Rio Grande, and New Mexico
When: 1845
Why: Mexico owed many money to the U.S.A, so U.S.A proposed Mexico to pay up by giving its properties to the U.S.A. Mexico would give New Mexico, Califonia, and el Rio Grande
So what? Mexico didnt owe money. -
Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo
Who : Mexico and U.S.A
What : They signed a treaty where Mexico would lose half its territory . Mexico would lose California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and parts of Colorado, Nevada, and Utah.
Where: Texas border, California, Rio Grande, Utah, Arizona
When : 1848
Why: To have Peace between the two contries
So what? The was was over and U.S.A owed more land. -
Gadsden Purchase
Who: Franklin Pierce and James Gadsden
What: Bought land to expan the west
Where: Mesilla valley near the Rio Grande
When: 1853
Why : To expan the west of the railroads
So what? The U.S.A got more land and the Mexicans got a border.
