    In 1606 the dutch(people from the netherlands) made land fall on Australia. This discovery just happened to be the first discovery of Australia. This would later be come colonized and taken over by the british.

    In 1770, Captain James Cook and his British fleet arrived on Australia, When they arrived they made a huge impact. It wasn't the cleanest but they took over a lot of land. They killed multiple aborigines to take their land.
  • The British sent the first fleet

    The British sent the first boat of convicts in 1787 and continued to in 1788 when the british prisoners settled in. The british were still building and taking over multiple aboriginal lands. which enraged the aboriginal people

    New South Wales was a territory in Australia that was the housing colony for all the British colonies. A lot of Prisoners were shipped there every week I think. When prisoners were released some made homes and families in Australia causing the diverse nature to this day.

    This was the place of the Criminals with the worse crimes or records. It was Huge with very little chance of escape like many camps in Australia at the time. The convicts were a mix of British and Irish people

    In 1861, colonies boundaries were set up to avoid land conflicts.
    In 1901 the Australian Commonwealth was formed. The land boundaries are what set the borders for what are now all the colonies.

    This act did not allow people of European Descent to immigrate to Australia. This also lined up with the non- discriminatory policy. Thy did not allow non-caucasians to immigrate.

    In 1967 federal governments started passing laws to protect the Aborigines. In March 1967 aborigine farmers striked because of how they were treated unfairly. Which was unacceptable from the people who took their land

    In 1986 British ties were cut
    In 1986 laws the Australia Act was established. This act the involvement of Australia becoming free of British rule. In 1999 Voters wanted to deny becoming a republic. They were many factors to this decision.
