He had many friends and family help him, but when he received the reward from the government, he refused to share any of it with any of his helpers

    Between 21-24 August, 1851 James Reagan and John Dunlop started the Victoria gold rush in Ballarat which became one of the richest gold fields on the history of the world.

    James Nash discovered gold in Gympie. The Nashville Gold Field, as it was known at the time, attracted over 600 Chinese men. The Gold Rush ended when the field flooded 1893.
