At the time of the First Fleet, there sailed 11 ships. Some of the ships carried convicts who were sent by europe to start a colony and to stop the over population of the country! Some of the ships carried the supplies they needed to start a new colony in Australia! -
The Gold Rush
The Gold Rush happened because a man called Edward Hargraves found a large golden nugget in a mining site called Ophir! The news spread after his discovery and people from all over the world came to try to find gold. The Gold Rush still goes on today! The main people to came to Australia were the asians but to be more specific, the people from China and they got picked on! They needed a special licence to go mineing and it was very expensive! -
The Eureka Stokade
The Eureka Stockade was a battle between the miners/diggers and the government. The battle was 20 minutes long but it was bloody! People put preasure on the government to stop making the miners/diggers pay for a liscence!
