    Ivan Prasko arrived in Australia and become the Ukrainian Catholics first Bishop
  • 1986- John Paul ll visits Australia

    Pope John Paul ll visits Australia for the first time and in 1987 established the Melkite diocese in Australia .

    George Pell is appointed Melbourne's Archbishop
