  • The White Australia Policy

    The white Australia policy was made by the government in 1901 in order to make it very hard for people of other skin colour to be aloud to move to the country. You would have to sit a test and if you passed it they would give it to you in a different language untill you failed. This policy has shaped the way Australia is today.
  • The Japanese Invade Manchuria

    Japan invaded the country of Manchuria in order to do military warfare testing. At the time it wasn't a good thing for Australia as it meant Japans military areas' were growing
  • The Japanese leave the League of Nations

    The Japanese left the League of Nations for a number of reasons, one of them being the fact of them targeting Australia. Being a part of the League of Nations they wouldnt of been aloud to do this otherwise they would of been held accountable and been punished, leaving meant they could go freely and do as they please.
  • The Fall of Singapore

    Singapore, located just off the coast of the top of Queenslad (North Australia) was under heave fire and bomb attacks meaning Austalia had to send troops over to try and help them. However this did not end well with Australia having to surrender
  • Nagasaki Atomic Bomb

    On the 9th of August 1945 the United States of America dropped a number of atomic bombs on Japan causing them to surrender, marking the end of World War 2
  • China Becomes a Communist Country

    China had become one of the most populated areas in the world and now with everything being controled by the government, could of become a great threat.
  • The 1967 Referendum

    This was a big event for Australia as from then on, the aboriginal people were counted as citizens which was prior a hard thing for them to except.
  • The First Man on the Moon

    The space race was a great jump in mankind and was a very significant event. There was much competition on who the first country would be to do this and all the super countries were involved in this.
  • The Tampa Crisis

    The Tampa Crisis was when a bill was passed to allow the coast guards to clear any unwanted boats who are a potential threat or asylum seekers from our waters. It has shaped the laws we have today on this topic.
  • The attack on the Twin Towers

    The bombing of the Twin Towers in New York was a very significant event to the human race. A great number of lives were lost and has greatly inpacted many countries who have since then passed stricter new laws to prevent terrible things such as this from happening again.
