    Mexican Independence (Political)

    Liberalism when they wanted to change the absolutist government nationalism when they united as nation in order to get a new government for the country, it is an important event because it ended with the absolutist monarchy and México became an independent country. It happened because of inequality and lack of power for some people and also people wanted a change from the conservative government.
  • Vienna Congress (Political)

    The fact that Austria-Hungary participated in the Vienna Congress is politically important because it meant protection for the country and alliance, this meant that the country was not only going to be military protected against revolution, in order to keep their conservatism and keep its absolutist form of government. It also meant that Austria wouldn´t be much more powerful than the other countries that participated in this congress and also its territory could not be much bigger or smaller.
  • The central bank (Bank of issue) (Economic)

    It was founded as The Austrian National Bank. It was a way to control people's earnings, it made it easier to administrate ones money. In 1878, it transformed into Austro-Hungarian National Bank with principal offices in both Vienna and Budapest. The gross national product per capita grew roughly 1.76% per year from 1870 to 1913.

    It is really important because we still have a constitution to this Day. It was the first constitution, that was written when the first federal republic existed. The fact that a constitution existed is liberal, yet one of the laws said the only religion in México could be Catholicism, which is a completely conservation idea. It divides the power in legislativa, judicial and executive .
  • Secession of Texas (Economic)

    Texas joined to the Confederate States of America, leaving Mexico with less territory. Texas became important, because of its natural resources such as petroleum which became really important for capitalism and gave a lot of money to US.

    US-Mexico War (Economic)

    Mexico lost nearly half of its territory, this was a bad thing for the economy because Mexico lost a lot of natural resources that later helped capitalism, the war left damages in Mexico, that had to be repaired.

    The Gadsden Purchase (Economic)

    This helped economically because the US payed Mexico for the Gadsen. This was like an authoritarian movement because the president Antonio López de Santa Anna did not consult with the people about selling Texas.
  • Reform War (Political)

    It is important because they were fighting against the great power of the Church and other institutions what was unfair and some laws that the Church had, like the tithe and other money. This changed the things in a political way because before the Church had too much power. And to our days it is not like that anymore. It happened because people were tired of the Church and Benito Juarez wanted to create a New constitution and had a liberal ideology.

    For economic and financial cooperation, there was to be a customs union and a sharing of accounts, which was to be revised every 10 years.
  • The Second Mexican Empire (Economic)

    The rule of Macimilian of Hapsburg was an economic disaster, the economy stopped, Mexico couldn't pay the national external debt. It was an authoritarian fail. France wanted to take our resources!
  • The Budapest Stock Exchange (Economic)

    It was opened in Budapest in 1864, its an Economical event because it marks the beginning of the Exchange between Austria-Hungary and other surrounding countries.
  • Defeat in the war (Economic)

    The economic consequences of the defeat in the war of 1866 made it imperative that the constitutional reorganization of the Habsburg monarchy, under discussion since 1859, be brought to an early and successful conclusion.
  • Rail transport (Political)

    Rail transport expanded rapidly in the Austro-Hungary empire making it grow faster than other empires near, this also helped the economy and the political aspects for the empire to grow because they could now transport the resources and the army throughout the empire

    The German liberals were allowed to amend the 1861 constitution known as the February Patent; the Fundamental Laws, which were adopted in December 1867 and became known as the December constitution, lasted until 1918.

    The GNP per capita grew roghly 1.45 % from 1870 to 1913, this was very good for the economy for the empire to grow more.

    The old Hungarian capital Buda and Óbuda (Ancient Buda) were officially merged with the third city.

    This happened because Díaz wanted to stay in the power, in this time Mexico had a good economic progress (not for everyone) becaise he brought the capitalist economy (industrial revolution)
  • Avalon Project (Political)

    Politically important because it meant protection for both empires (specially against Russia, a common enemy in that time), and if one of them was attacked or threated the other country would help them with military tools and economy too. This is conservative, because the people had nothing to do with this and was only decided by the supreme power of both countries, also this was made to conserve the stability of both governments and keep the absolutism.
  • Federal Republic (Political)

    It is important because it was the first federal republic in Mexico, which is still the form of government we have now. It was the first time the country was ruled by a constitution, and it’s a completely liberal form of government. It was also the first time Mexico had a president who was Guadalupe Victoria. This happened because people in the country wanted a change also inspired by the republic of the USA, and they wanted their rights to be respected. Liberal
