    The law passed in which students with severe disabilities would be provided with assistive technology. The law states that funding from the state would help in developing and purchasing assistive technology.

    Carried over the definition from the Tech Act of 1988, but some significant changes took place. One major change was the wording from "individual" to "child." Another change was that the law requires all students with disabilities be assessed for assistive technology needs.
