  • Starts of democracy in Argentina

    Buenos Aires held an open town meeting (Cabildo Abierto). A junta was elected, which deposed the viceroy and declared itself in authority.

    On 9 July 1816, a congress of provincial delegates in San Miguel de Tucumán signed a declaration of independence. With this, democracy was present in Argentina with the declaration.

    Centralism instead of Democracy in Argentina

    Juan Manuel de Rosas imposed order and centralism from 1835 until 1852.
    It ended when the forces of Gen. Justo José de Urquiza defeated him.
  • Centralist Republic of Mexico

    In 1835 was proclaimed the Centralist Republic of Mexico, Even being a republic, democracy had difficults to maintain all the time because of wars between the democracy characteristics with the contrary ones, in this case the centralism aspects.

    A new Constitution was adopted in 1853 having democracy when the formation of a document as the representation of democracy.

    Urquiza was elected president in 1854. democracy present in the voting of society.
  • Mexican Constitution of 1857

    In 1857 a new Mexican Constitution was promulgated. improving the rights of mexican people, democracy was strengthen at this point because a constitution represents directly pillars of democracy.
  • Starts of Porfiriato

    Diaz became president in 1876. the Porfiriato started and also started the omission of democracy and rights as well as liberties because the time of Diaz was only him as president for long time withouth having elections, a lack of democracy.
