  • Victor Hugo Green published the Green Book, which was a tour guide for African Americans living in a time where "whites only" signs were active.

  • The Green Book expanded its horizons to the southern areas of Utah. Where in fact by this time, additional areas were added in the Green Book such as the national parks of the Bryce Canyon Lodge and the Zion National Park.

  • The Utah senate killed a civil rights measure which led to a headline entitled "NAACP scores Mormon for blocking bill.

  • The segregation of hotel spaces available for African Americans persisted in the state of Utah.

  • The Civil Rights Act was enacted by the United States, which prohibited the act of discrimination in public places including hotels, restaurants, casinos etc.

  • Laurel Ulrich, coined the phrase "well-behave women seldom make history", which has been an historical and monumental phrase that has existed ever since.

  • The time when the LDS church refused to have African American men and women to become priests within the state of Utah. Basically rendering them from the opportunity to become priests because they were simply not "white".
