The Frank family goes ino hiding in the Secret Annex above Otto Frank's office. Then, they are joined by the Van Pel family the next week.

The familes of the annex are caught and are transported to Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp

Anne and her sister Margot are transported from Auschwitz-Birkenau to Bergen Belsen concentration camp.

Anne and Margot both die of typus, only a few days apart. Bersen Belsen camp is liberated by British troops April 15.

Hitler commits suicide as Sovient troops close in on his bunker in Berlin. Germany surrenders to end World War 2. Otto Frank was the only occupant to survive. Another person living in the Secret Annex saved Anne's diary and returned it,unread, to Otto Frank.

Anne's diary is first published in Dutch. It has now been translated into 50 languages and is now one of the world's most popular book.
