Fritz, (a dentist) had moved into the Annex with the occupants. At first, Anne was thrilled to find out that someone was moving in, but later on, Anne found him as an annoyance because she had to share a room and her writing desk with him.

Anne has her first kiss with Peter. They got really close because they both needed to speak their feelings about how they felt in the Annex. Anne constantly wrote about Peter and expressed her feelings toward him but she kind of lost touch in him.

Anne and the others living in the Annex were discovered by dutch police. The police discovered the hiding place by revolving the bookcase. They were later interrogated at the SD prison on Euterpestraat.
