Anne's boyfriends
Anne describes the history of her boyfriends for "Kitty" (her diary).
The most important boy was Peter Schiff, whom she spent a wonderful summer with before sixth grade, but then he went off to middle school. He also moved and was influenced by his friends to stop seeing Anne, who was younger than him. She daydreams a lot about him. -

Anne has her own opinions...
Anne suddenly has the insight that the Franks are not always right and the van Daans are not always wrong. She realizes this because her own mother can be difficult. She decides that from now on, she will try to be independent in her views rather than biased by her own family. -

Peeling potatoes...
Margot, Peter, and Anne are peeling potatoes and the subject of Boche the cat’s gender comes up. Later, Peter shows Anne how he knows that Boche is a boy. Then a veryyy weird conversation starts with Peter's father, Peter and Anne.
