When Lenin took over power in the October revolution he decided that state and church needed to be seperated. Before, when the Tzar's had the power the church was pretty buddy buddy with the state. -

Moses, the Raven disappears for a few years when he goes after Mr. Jones. Moses was Mr. Jone's favorite and most prized animal. They were like the Russian Church and the Tzar family. -
The secret police
The first known secret police were called Cheka, when Lenin came to power he abolished the Cheka. In 1922, Stalin founded the GPU. In 1954 it was renamed again to the KGB which is it's well known name today. -
Napolean takes the puppies away
Napolean starts the puppies in training to become his "police" in the story. They punish innocent animals and beat other animals until they confess to crimes the poor animals did not commit. -

Napolean like Stalin, never got along with Snowball (Trotsky). Napolean uses the dogs to chase Snowball away. Napolean wants all the power to himself. -
