Angelica Schuyler was born to Phillip Schuyler and Catherine Van Rensselaer Schuyler. She was the eldest of 15, but only 8 survived to adulthood.
-
Angelica grew up in the time leading up to the American Revolution. Since her father was had a military position, the Schuyler house was a very common meeting place for war councils and other meetings.
-
Angelica may have had an affair with Hamilton, but it's unknown if it's true. They had a very flirtatious relationship, but they were just very good friends. And she was already engaged to Church.
-
In 1776, John Barker Church visited the Schuyler household. They began courting, and in 1777, they eloped, thinking that Philip Schuyler wouldn't approve because of Church's suspicious past. They had 8 children together.
-
Angelica was very politically aware.

Angelica's family moved to Europe, because of her husband's job. They stayed there for 16 years, (but they visited America a few times).
